It is a known fact that bad things could happen to a good person, even someone who has given his/her life to Jesus Christ. I've heard stories of terrible things that unfortunately befell some believers(folks that believe in Jesus), that got me smh and asking God what's up with that?
However, as I began to study and learn the scriptures, I received revelations from the Holy Spirit, I found out that most people consciously or unconsciously allow themselves to go through tragedies in life either because of ignorance or complete disobedient to the Word of God. In Hosea 4:6 God said, 'My people perish for lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee...'
When you are born again, meaning when you receive Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life,
you are automatically born in the kingdom of God. Even though you are still in this world, you are
no longer of the world. In John chapter 17 verse 16, Jesus while praying for us said, 'they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.' As a child of God, you are born into a new kingdom called Zion. Hebrews 12:22 says, 'you have come to Mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels.'
When you come to a new place, first thing you have to learn is the law of the land, and how to live by it. That you don't know the speed limit in a place while driving is not an excuse if the cop catches u for over speeding. Every country has its law, likewise the kingdom of God has laws and principles. If you do not know and abide by these laws, you may find yourself in trouble and may end up falling short of the blessings you have been born to enjoy.
